Our Mission Statement: Faith formation is a lifelong learning process, from baptism to christian burial. Our mission is to engage and re-engage all generations to be active participants in Catholic life, especially Sunday liturgy, in a safe, welcoming environment. Through faith sharing opportunities, as well as rich sacramental experiences, we seek to encourage all of God's people to experience, participate, interact and connect with the community so they may establish and deepen their personal relationship with Jesus.
LIFT - Living In Faith Together is:
LIFT Gatherings take place in the school gym. Please enter through the side door of the school when you arrive.
We begin with our meal prepared by our wonderful kitchen team. Following the communal meal, we sing our opening song, have a procession, read scripture, pray and introduce to the gathering’s topic. We will also bless the children, then the children will bless the adults before we form groups for break out sessions to explore our topic more in depth. Most often these groups are:
After the break-out sessions, we gather to pray, reflect, share in a ritual, thank all our volunteers and award our door prize.
LIFT—Living In Faith Together—was established in 2005 and is the basis of Holy Spirit Church’s Faith Formation program—offering all community members of all ages opportunities to celebrate God’s love, mercy and presence in our lives.
As members of Holy Spirit Church, the Catholic community and the universal church, we live in faith together. Our life is a continuing journey in faith—whether seeking faith, finding faith or keeping faith. Regardless of where you are in your faith journey, parishioners of Holy Spirit Church and it's parish staff, seek to welcome you, help meet your faith needs, and walk with you. In an effort to continue the work of the Holy Spirit, we offer LIFT to help participants form, grow and deepen their faith. We prepare all for continuing a lifelong journey of faith through interactive sharing, common experiences and age-specific presentations.
Our vision seeks to build a program where all are welcome to share faith together wherever they are on their faith journey. LIFT promotes sharing faith at home and participation in church life. LIFT is a programmed schedule of church and community events that foster the sharing of Christ’s light. Each gathering prepares us for participating more fully in the Mass and in the life of the church.
LIFT offers a monthly gathering—offered twice. Materials are provided to encourage conversations at home. Celebrations held in the church help to build upon the learning and sharing that occur at LIFT gatherings. All are welcome and encouraged to participate.
Each LIFT Gathering begins with a meal, so join us as we share a meal and faith.
From time to time, families find they’d like “more”. We can always provide more. Just ask! We love to help.
What does a year of LIFT look like?
Our curriculum runs on a six-year cycle covering prayer, the creed, the sacraments, the liturgical year, social justice, and morality. While these themes are woven into each year, they get their own in-depth look once every six years.
Each gathering helps participants explore, learn about and reflect deeply on the topic at hand. We then have the opportunity to live out what we have learned. E-kits are also emailed to all our participants. The e-kit has all the links used during our gathering as well as many other links, prayers, websites and articles for further exploration
The goal of LIFT is to Live out our faith - together. Join us as we gather to share food, faith, fun and friendship!
