Prayer, fasting, giving – make a family plan for prayer, fasting and almsgiving. Each week, take a look at your plan and see if you need to make any adjustments.
Saint celebration – Learn about a saint that will have a feast day during Lent and celebrate that saint on their feast day.
Lenten Family Retreat – Sunday 3/3 at 3pm – I will have a mini-retreat for Lent in the Library
Operation Rice Bowl – This will go out on Ash Wednesday. “Through CRS Rice Bowl, families learn about how our sisters and brothers across the globe overcome hardships like hunger and climate change, and how through Lenten alms, we have the power to make the world a better place for all.”

Chalk blessing for your home. With chalk, over your doorway write 20 + C + M + B + 24. “20” and “24” for the new year (2024). The plus signs represent the Cross. CMB are an abbreviate the Latin Christus mansionem benedicat, or “May Christ bless the house.”
Find out baptismal dates of family members and have a celebration. (Either every year at the Baptism of the Lord or on your baptismal date).
Set up your home prayer space for Ordinary Time.
Saint Celebration -Choose a saint for the month and plan how you will celebrate their feast day. (Example: St. Francis de Sales. Here are a few brief facts about St. Francis de Sales. He was born in France, became bishop of Geneva, which is in Switzerland, he catechized children and wrote many books. He said, “a spoonful of honey attracts more flies than a barrelful of vinegar.” His feast day is January 24th. You could learn a little more about him and then have croissants with honey or a honey vinaigrette or read a faith book together. )
